Ash Jenkins and Nick Jeffery attended the Southampton Remembrance Day service, laying the SSA wreath.
A service held in Kingston cemetery, Portsmouth, to mark the sinking and loss of all crew of the cement carrier ‘Flag Theofano’ in the eastern Solent in 1970, was attended by members of the SSA. Specifically a plaque was placed on the grave of Ibrahim Hussain whose body could not be repatriated after the tragedy. The plaque was sponsored by the SSA. A wreath was laid by Roger Thornton, on behalf of the SSA, the Merchant Navy Wefare Board, Southampton Sailors' Society and Southampton Port Agents.
